While visiting Torrevieja Town Hall this morning to renew my Padron, the woman who dealt with my application asked me if I realised, since Brexit I need to renew my Residencia card every Two years and not as I thought renew after 5 years. Can anyone confirm or advise.

She is correct, since Brexit it's 2 years but the message doesn't seem to have been well disseminated.

No, you don't renew your residency every 2 years but you do renew your padron every two years if you have the temporary resident card up to 5 years. Once you are permanent after 5 years then the padron is renewed every 5 years, same as a EU citizen.

The TIE is issued for 5 years until it is permanent and then after 10 years when it is permanent. Unless it's the NLV which means you must renew the residency requirements after 1 year, then 2 years and another 2 years when it becomes permanent.

Apologies, my bad.

I read Padron and totally missed that you were talking about your TIE!
