Try  Torreviejasportscity.com.  it  a  very large and well equipped Gym  with some Social  areas  but  it  is  spread out and admission  is very  reasonable.  It  is  near  the Habernasa  shopping centre

Hope  it  helps 🙏

Hello

Here is the link to Torreviejas SportsCity    https://torreviejasportscity.com/  If you are googling around the location , the shopping centre is  called Habaneras C.C

Cheers

Hi, I see someone has recommended Sports City which is the right answer, but that's because, it is, as far as I am aware, the only gym facility with an associated  swimming pool (Olympic size), which serves local schools and colleges in particular well, and I'd agree it is cheap. I say "associated" because the building the gym is in and the building the pool are in are about a quarter of a kilometre apart, and if like me you are a gym user of many years used to going for a workout routine and them popping into the pool afterwards Sports World is a huge disappointment. The gym in my opinion is just adequate with basic equipment in a rectangular concrete room, ventilated bh open doors, and I suspect that's a practice that persists in winter - seen it before in Spain and it's annoying if you work up a sweat. On the whole I'd say the gym is too small for the custom it gets so you find yourself waiting for machines. By the way it's closed between 2 and 5

I do not use the facility, because basically you go do a workout having handed in your card for a locker key then afterwards you have go get dressed, hand in your key, get your card back then have to walk or drive the quarter km down the road to hand in your card and get another key for another locker at the swimming pool.

If you are used to a normal gym and swim routine, it's not worth the aggravation. Whoever was in charge of designing the facility hadn't got a clue in my opinion and I suspect that this was just the usual provincial corruption project. There is a cafeteria in the swimming pool building.

So in my opinion, the answer to your question is "no not really". Torrevieja has Sports City and otherwise a couple of gyms, "muscle rooms" and that's it. Torrevieja needs the kind of gyms I joined in Alicante with large gyms in the same building as the swimming pool, and a spa facility, bring your own key and padlock - it doesn't have one.

Hi, your message is very comprehensive and useful. I am coming to Alicante areaish in the next couple of weeks, probably for a few months and am looking for exactly the sort of club you describe with pool and gym. Similar to David Lloyd in the UK. I would be most grateful if you could give me details of where they might be. Thanks John

Hi I too was a David Lloyd member in the UK amongst other similar gyms and having lived im Torrevieja for a year, I am fairly confident in saying there nothing like that in the town - they all seem to be rough muscle rooms with wackaddahiss type music at insane volume, or a silly price for indifferent ewuioment, or one where the intro involved specifying what size towel I needed to bring. However there is a gym called Synergy which opened in November and is part of a well established UK franchise chain with branches in Alicante and Madrid.  https://synergym.es/torrevieja/ In my my opinion they know what they are doing andit knock spots of what else there is on offer in Torrevieja and is the nearest thing to the kind of standard reprresented by a DL gym. It helps that its new but it has a good standard selection of  very decent pegged weight and aerobic equipment with the weights area away at the top of the space. The obligatory music is not at a silly volume and it is tastefully done with nice laminate flooring. The changing rooms are clean functional. The showers have doors on them. Its what I'd recognise as a gym of a decebt standard. Umfortunately iit doesnt have a refreshments area or wifi but its very reasonablle at 30 a month. I use the pool at Sports City for swimming. There are I believe spa type places just outside Torrevieja in hotels if you want them. If this place had a spa and pool in the basement and a cafeteria, it'd be perfect.
