Hi all, is there a good regular bus service in Villa Martin?

We are looking at different towns to buy a property, we are wanting to split our time between UK and Spain ( under Brexit rules).

We will probably have a car but sometimes would prefer to just jump on the bus and have a day out with a beer or two.

We liked Rojales, Quesada area but the bud service seems to be non existent.

Thanks

You'll find that public transport is pretty abysmal wherever you go, ditto taxis.

Hi

There is a bus service which passes through Villa Martin, but it is infrequent and doesn't run late at night and not at all at weekends (except in July/August). It is a purely local service from Cabo Roig to La Zenia and it can be quicker to walk!

For a decent service you'll need to be within the bounds of Torrevieja - see here, https://costazul.net/lineas-urbanas/

The other place with a decent bus service is La Zenia Boulevard. There are also plentiful facilities, including bars, within walking distance of the Boulevard.

Cheers

Steve

Basically, in the southern Costa Blanca, public transport is abysmal. There is no train infrastructure, and the buses (when ontime) run Alicante to Carthagena, with no sideways connection. This is the reason that property is so cheap, and you NEED your own transport, unless you live in Torrevieja city centre

Hello

I have managed successfully for 20yrs to travel on public transport from the La Mata area.

3 different buses pass my gate with 3 different routes into Torrevieja passing both the Bus Station for longer trips...Alicante City  +  Airport bus ,   Murcia, Orihuela  & the bus interchange for onward journeys in the Torrevieja area. Torrevieja Radio Taxis are normally with me in 5-10 mins  * except in busy summer months.

Choose carefully where you buy a property----- if public transport is important to you!

Cheers
