Hi.  We're looking at relocating to Albir hopefully within the next 18 months, with many trips over before then looking for our place in the sun, but our main concern is how best to transport our 6 year old cat, causing him the least distress possible.  Does anyone have any advice from their own experiences?

I'm sure I'll have many more questions over the next year or so with regard to our move but our beloved cat is top of our priority list

.

Many thanks

Sian

Hello Sian, we used Sharon at Trans-pet to bring our dog over for us in February as we didn't want to fly him. She was very efficient and he arrived safe and happy to us here in Spain. I'm sure that they transport both dogs and cats. I don't have their number but they do have their own website. Good luck with your move and a Happy New Year. Russ

Thank you Russ, that's really helpful.  I'll check out Sharon's website.

Happy New Year.

Hi Sian.

We relocated to Campoverde in November and brought our two cats and our dog.We flew to Alicante with our animals from Liverpool with Blue Air.They were brilliant we decided to fly them because it was the shortest time for them to be in a confined space and the price was very cheap. You can take the cat in the cabin in a carrier depending on size and weight. There are other airlines that do the same but I am not sure who they are.My cats are fine now quite settled and back to their normal selves after only six weeks.

Regards

We used Animal Couriers for our two cats. Website gives all info. They  delivered cats to a local reputable cattery with whom they have a business relationship as we did not have the keys to our property at that point. Cats remained there until we could bring them home. Efficient and the cats suffered no ill effects,, it had the advantage of relieving us of the stress of dealing with them during a move, as we delivered them to the couriers just before the removers arrived at our UK house, so we didn’t have to worry about them again until we were ready.

Morning Ray.  Thanks for your response, it is really helpful and I totally agree, it's us that are getting stressed about it, I'm sure Lennie will be fine!

Thanks Stephanie, that's really helpful.  I think relocating Lennie will be the most stressful thing, everything else seems easy in comparison:)

Maureen, thanks so much for your response.  We would prefer to fly with Lennie if possible and you have just confirmed that it is and its fine.  I shall check out BlueAir and any others that do the same.

Thanks again.

We have never used this airlines before but we were really impressed with the service. The luggage allowance is very good you pay extra as usual but the amount you can take is quite high. You can also contact them without any trouble.Good luck with your move.
