The Jalon valley is a huge international area. Yes, there are several Belgians I have met, although I don’t think quite so many as there are Dutch nationals here!

We went to a party some while ago, where the mix was English/Dutch/Polish/Belgian, common language Franspanol!

Slightly lower down the coast, try El Raso in the Guardamar Campo. At the it’s approximately 40% Brits 35 % Belgians, with more and more Belgians purchasing the vast amount of new properties being built.

Thanks Lynn. Its not that we want to live in a ex pat dominated area, rather a healthy mix of spanish and expats. The Jalon valley area seems to offer this. As you may understand it can be daunting leaving the familiar for the new. We feel the presence of an expat community would provide us with something 'familiar', a potential network for advice if needed. Thanks so much for your advice.

No I understand exactly what you mean,

We’re  fortunate to be within a few minutes drive of Guardamar , which is almost completely Spanish, but  have a network of expats offering legal advice, services, workmen etc. It’s almost always easier to converse in your native language  when you  first decide to make a different country your home.

But it’s also nice to know that only a few minutes away, you’re out of your comfort zone and participating in the true Spanish lifestyle.

I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding the perfect location.

Thanks Lynn, it looks very nice where you are based and the possibillty to access different towns on your doorstep is really good.  Thanks again for your info.
