Hello is it best to buy a car in the uk and drive over or buy in Spain

I would certainly buy a Spanish car, I know they are a bit more expensive but the steering wheel is in the correct place. With a UK car you will need to put it on Spanish plates etc, etc and the steering wheel will always be in the wrong position.

I would tend to agree with Steve as I believe costs of importing a UK car have risen since the UK left the EU.
However I am driving a UK car in Spain on Spanish plates without any real issues. Servicing, ITV testing and insurance are no problem for a righthand drive car either.
To help with your decision you should get an idea of costs and the process involved in putting a UK car onto Spanish plates. There are a couple of companies that will help, I used Spanish Numbers Plates when I brought my car over, excellent service from Leigh. Give them a call or send a email to ask advice.

It might depend on where you will spend most of the year. Basically over 6 months in any country means car should be registered there. Cost of registering UK reg car in Spain is much more than registering Spanish reg car in UK
