Hi everyone,

Me and wife coming to live In Algorfa soon, problem is we don't speak Spanish. Will it be a problem? Or must we learn it, if so any good classes?

Cheers

You definitely need lessons if you're going to live here as residents. There was a teacher in Algorfa, but I don't know if lessons are still being run. Almoradi town hall run lessons each year, and Bar Catorce in Benijofar also do well-recommended lessons.

You'll also need someone fluent in Spanish and Spanish bureaucracy to help you through everything official you'll have to do; for examples changing driving licenses, getting residencia etc.

Why would you not learn the language of the country in which you live?  You may never be fluent but you should at least try to learn the basics.  Think of it the other way around - if a person moves to the UK permanently wouldn't you consider learning English important for them?

Thank you so much, learning a new language frightens us but with your kind nd words it gives us inspiration.
