Non- Resident account?help

Hola everyone,

I need help. Where Or witch bank can I open a Non -Resident account. My Spanish is not good at all and it is very difficult to explain anything. As you know we are all staying home because of the Virus but I’m going to get paid from the government from my job on witch I have been working for 3 months now. I have a NIE number but is white piece of paper. In few banks told me that I need a green cart residency in order to open an account. Dilema.  So I’m going to apply for residency soon as everything reopen and things are well for all of us finger crossed but in a mid time I’m not sure what to do with this banking problem and how to and where to receive the money.  I have to go and sigh in for tax certificates I thing. Anyway , thank you all For any help and responde in  advance.  God bless,

Hi

When we first moved here a couple of years ago we were recommended Sabadell as they will ensure that they will arrange for someone to talk to you in English and their website  https://www.bancsabadell.com/cs/Satellite/SabAtl/Particulares/1191332204474/en/ is in English. As you know you open a non-residence account at first which they change once you apply for your residency, not sure why you have been advised to have a green card, are you British? if so I can advise how to proceed without any green card. Your NIE paper is standard and it's a good idea to download onto your phone.

Thank you so much Jeff, I will go Monday to Sabadell bank and use your link you gave me.  I have meant that the resident card you get has green color. I am a dual Bulgarian-American actually. Thank you so much for you time. Be safe

Hi Jeff, 

I have a bank account with the Caixa bank and I know there is one in Altea. I just took my passport and National insurance number to open an account. I live in the UK 

Anyway I hope you can sort this out soon

I am British and my wife dual American and British. We opened with Sabadell branch on the N332 near the bridge. The manager there speaks really good English and was very helpful.

We really like the Transferwise on line account as well. Its fantastic and very cheap to move money across various currencies. Since we use USD £ and Euro its perfect.
