Does anyone know of a Garden Centre that sells these trees?

Thanks

Hi Dave,

I've only seen specialist palm and olive tree nurseries in this area.  The trees in the photo you've attached appear to be Italian pencil Cypress, so you're probably best visiting a local nursery and asking whether they can recommend a supplier.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Dave,

Coincidentally, I've just been to my local nursery to buy some new shears and they had a similar tree there called Cypress "Totem" - €38 for a tree about 6ft tall.  May be worth asking for those at your local nursery.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Dave

This is Cypress. Easy to find them in garden centers. You could find them, but with a small size, young ones (between 15cm to 1m50). With correct watering, they grow quickly. If you plant young ones, choose at least 1m between each of them.

Hi Dave,

For that quantity, you probably need to find a wholesaler - or negotiate a discount at a local garden centre.

Hi Kimmy

When it's about buying a old tree, a tall one, the root system come restricted in a pot or a bag, so when you plant them, it gets a small size of roots. With a big wind, a tall cypress will collapse. I think it's better to buy a cypress with 3 years old, with 1.50m, this way, the root can stabilize the tree more eficiently. A cypress f 1.50cm could cost around 12€.

A cypress can grow about 50cm each year.

Great!  As you live in Aspe and seem to be so knowledgeable about Cypress trees (even though you offered no advice on the variety), perhaps you can recommend a supplier to Dave?

Kind regards,

Kim
