No it can't be done by anyone else as a fingerprint and signatures are required.

If you haven't the time or inclination to do it why would anyone else 🤷?

Hi Coomber,

I'm very sorry to hear of your troubles.  As Steve has advised, you will need to attend the appointment in Alicante yourself, to have your fingerprints taken.  You also need to return to Alicante in person to collect your new TIE card, when they will check your fingerprints to verify your identity.  I've written a step-by-step guide on how to do this yourself, but getting the appointment online is very difficult and it doesn't sound like you have time to sit at a computer repeatedly trying to get one!

https://www.costablancaforum.com/area/formentera-del-segura-spain-54/residency-in-formentera-del-segura-padron-residencia-passport-advice-23/guide-to-exchanging-residencia-for-a-tie-card-form-ex-23-117366/

I would recommend you contact a gestor who can make the appointment for you, help you complete the application form and then take you to both appointments.  There will, however, be some things that you will need to do yourself, such as updating your Padrón at the Town Hall and provide an up to date photo, which you can have done at the Post Room, behind the church in Benijofar.  The first priority is to get an appointment at Alicante's foreigners office.

A couple of gestors I would recommend are:

Uma Sanz at Get Legal in Spain

https://www.getlegalinspain.com/

and Matt at One Way Services

http://www.one-way-services.com/nie.php

It's also worth noting that, although the British Embassy is encouraging us to exchange our green registration certificate for a TIE as soon as possible, Spain hasn't actually set a deadline yet for doing so.  It's worth engaging a gestor to help you with this, but don't be surprised if it takes weeks to get an appointment, especially now that we're into "silly season", when government departments will be short-staffed during the holiday period.

Kind regards,

Kim

If you had given a short explanation as to why, Steve would have given a more polite answer. I would have given you the same answer as Steve, but I would probably have told you what to do with yourself. I think an apology should be given to Steve.

I tend to agree. Using profanities in a post, directed at any forum member is unlikely to gain a favorable response.

You state you need to get your TIE urgently, are you being advised by a legal body, for example your bank etc that they no longer will accept your green residencia

As you’ve obviously got a lot of other things to deal with, why not just hang on to your green residencia until you are able to exchange it to a TIE card. As Kim has already stated it’s not compulsory to change as yet.

If you haven’t got transport then you will have to enlist the help of a gestor  as recommended by others in previous posts.as you have to attend both appointments in Alicante in person. You will however need to sort out your photos and  if reqan updated padron as they cannot do that for you.
