We used a company to register the car here in Spain but they haven’t notified DVLA.

Hi,
I’ve just used Car Registrations Spain to register my vehicle here, they were excellent, once registered they returned section 5 from my log book, which you sign and return to DVLA, DVLA will then cancel your tax and return any monies to your bank account or to an address you provide.

Just to ask what fees do the Spanish charge if you import your vehicle? and any info on where to have the conversions and Spanish registration done in Alicante area.

I think it depends on the age of vehicle, how long you have owned it and if you do it within 60 days of getting residency you won’t have to pay tax on the value of the vehicle.

I would give Spanish registrations a ring very helpful and will give you a no obligation quote, it’s not cheap to import your vehicle mine cost 1200€ With taxes new itv and road tax, I had a look at the cost of vehicles here in Spain and to buy an equivalent with roughly the same mileage year and condition as mine would cost 10000€ plus So it was an easy choice, plus you know the history of your own.
