Hi - we scanned images of;
1/ our Padron
2/ our joint bank account statement showing balance/ transactions over a 3 month period. These we got from our bank and they stamped them.
3/ Our passports - every page if you scan you can do 2 at a time.
4/ Our private medical insurance certificates including sections where the insurance provide stamps "paid".
We used our HP scanner to scan in the images as it allows you to scan a single sheet or "add" additional pages where a document has multiple pages. Just be aware that the online system has a limit of 6mg per file you upload and so we reduced the resolution density on the passport as there are a lot of pages.
Review all of the scanned images for clarity and readability. Just be aware that the Spanish residency website is down at the moment and has been for a few days so you can't actually start the process for your ex20 online at the moment.
If you are applying as; a pensioner with an S1, a self employed person or student then the documents you upload will differ. My wife and I applied as early retirees with sufficient means and private health insurance so the above represents our initial document upload - all in black and white.
In terms of the ex23 appointment you will need a copy of your passport again but only the 2 pages showing your photo we had black and white. My wife was also asked for a copy of her padron but I wasn't. Probably makes sense having a folder of multiple papers in case.
Once you do get to the EX23 stage it will become clearer what exactly you should take but if not shout out - don't forget the tiny photo's needed for the card you can get these at photography shops for around 6 euro for multiple copies.
