Jolly Gel for swimming pools now on sales from Don Aluminio Builders

I hope Geoff sees this one and contributes. What's wrong with using ordinary flocculante? Our pool is so clear that if the surface isn't moving, it looks like there isn't any water in the pool.

I have used Jolly Gel in the past and was impressed. 

As a retired pool man, I know how to keep my pool water crystal clear, and so I was surprised to find that it was marginally better when I put Jolly Gel in the pump basket.

Since then I have been looking for a regular supplier, and so I was pleased to see the OP above, and I noted down Don Aluminio's details, with a view to asking him for a price. (I won't use it regularly if it's as expensive as I suspect it's going to be).

My overall verdict:  An excellent product that can indeed improve the clarity of pool water, but one which could be classed as an "expensive luxury" by people who are already managing to keep their pool water acceptably clean. Think of it a bit like premium diesel or 98 octane petrol for your car - debatable whether it's worth it!

Thanks for that Geoff, it's nice to get a professional opinion. I may try it at some point, but really don't see how it could make my pool look any better than it does at the moment.

Hi we have used this and it does make a difference!  We have also recommended it to friends who have been very impressed with the results the results. 

Update.

We had not used the Jolly Gel over winter and the pool was clean but with the rain it made a right mess of it!  I used one of the blocks of gel and within 24 hours it was perfectly clear a quick clean of the bottom this morning and it is perfect this stuff is awesome!!  I can highly recommend it again worth every penny at 18 euros for a pack of 4 from Rob  (they last up to 3 weeks each)

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I've just used plain old flocculante tablets, and my pool water is crystal clear, at a fraction of the price of Jolly Gel.

To me, it's like people who buy 'designer' names when a cheaper product is just as good.

If you are disagreeing I take it you have used Jolly Gel then,  I have used most of the products available over the years and in my experience I have come across nothing that is as good!  Obviously just my opinion and experience with these products also having read benefits in depth and talked to other people this for me is a far superior to other types of floc.  I am only giving people the benefit personal experience and it is worth it to me.  I have also read rave reviews from many others before I parted with my hard earned!.  the pool shops sell it for 20 euros and people are buying it so at 18 euros we are well pleased especially as this inhibits algae growth for up to 3 weeks.
