Wearing masks in Torrevieja

I’ve just been told that unless you are swimming in the sea you have to wear a mask on the beach, can anyone advise if this is correct, in particular in Torr

That’s made me giggle
If I ever get back to Spain and manage to get to the little beach I use for my morning swim, there’ll be no body there, as much of it is possibly only about 3/4 metres deep. It just conjured up all sorts of permutations 😂🤪🥂
