I suggest you spend some time browsing the forum, as the topic has been covered many times. Bullet points:

If you are in receipt of the UK state pension you can transfer from NHS to Spanish cover.

If not, you have to take out private health insurance.

Dentistry is private and only funded by the state for children and, I think, pregnant women.

Hello Wayne, I use Medcare in Benijofar for dental treatment. Tim, the dentist, is very thorough and explains everything clearly, usually with several options depending on budget. They also have a G.P. there (private), although, having a SIP card, I use my local Spanish health centre but you might want to start off at Medcare if your Spanish is not good.

As we are not yet State Pension age we arranged our private health insurance, which we needed to apply for Residencia, through Gran Alacant Insurance and dealt with Alfonso, very professional and friendly, English speaking, we were delighted with the entire service and process, tel 966390830 or email granalacantinsurances@gmail.com, tell him John and Gillian from La Zenia recommended him.

Dentistry is private and has to be paid for directly according to the treatment received.
