Parking fines?
Hola all.
We stupidly parked the car on a street in Benidorm just over a week ago on the Sunday, and we thought the street was free parking, but walking towards it on the Monday, we literally saw it being towed away on a trailer, and then found a sticker on the street where it had been parked to say it had been taken to the depot for not having a ticket displayed. Only then did we notice the ticket machine at the end of the street.
We jumped straight into a passing taxi, who took us to the depot, and we arrived there just as our car was being offloaded from the trailer, so we acknowledged our mistake... paid out the 60€ cost to get the car back, and thought no more about it.
However, it's since crossed my mind to wonder if there might be an actual “parking fine” to be paid in addition to the fee we paid to retrieve the car, and we’re currently back in Scotland, so we can't check the paperwork we got, which is in the car back at airport parking.
I'm therefore hoping someone with knowledge or experience of this can help me clarify whether there's likely to be an additional fine sent by post while we're not there, or if the 60€ already paid at the depot will be all there is?
Grateful for any help folks.
Thanks,
Alan
