A previous poster said that you queue outside and then when it is your turn you give a list to a staff member who then goes off to get the items (not always successfully).
We spent yesterday trawling through their website getting product numbers for everything we want and we will place the order by telephone today so we can pick it up 3 hours later.
I don't think you can wander at will in the stores but I will update everyone later if it is any different. (Elche store)

Oh, that's not what their website says. Did you want to go in the store to pick items yourself or did they simply refuse to serve you at all?

I suspect that might apply to trade buyers and they are not servicing the public at all.

We have just made a telephone order that we will be collecting from Elche store at 3 pm. As we have a Pro card, which was issued according to our spending as opposed to being a registered professional, we can also go in the store itself. I don't know how much wandering we will be able to do but there were some bits and bobs that we couldn't find product codes for or to see the actual colour of paint so I will keep everyone updated.

I was that OP, unless you are trade you can't walk round the store, you are corralled in an area until a member of staff arrives to ask what you want, they then go off to find said item.
Where the "system" falls down is the company are asking the staff to second guess what the customer wants if their first choice is not available, if I had been able to go into the store proper I could have looked at the choice of items and if my first choice was not available I could then make a decision if something else would have been suitable, it's not the staffs job to do that and it's not practical.
I feel sorry for the staff they are between a rock and a hard place.
Leroy Merlin are trying to run a system that should be on a digital platform (think Argos) manually and its not working.
My advice is if you do go to the store take a picture of the item and product number on your phone to show the staff.
I went on Saturday after getting a text message from LM that they were open to Individuals from 19th May.
Just returned from Elche where we collected our telephone order from the online order pick up and then we went into the store itself. As we had a Pro card we could wander the store at will but members of the public had a very small area to browse and then had to ask staff to get other items. I heard a few raised voices from the public side but.....this is Spain, it didn't necessarily mean there was an argument. Everybody in the store was wearing masks and we had to sanitize our hands and wear disposable gloves inside.
