One of our air con units is not working we got an electrician friend to look at it who said it was the compressor gone. He said to repair it will be expensive, better to replace it...looking around they are quite expensive..500 upwards...pensioners who need help..

He's probably correct, the ways things are manufactured today it's usually a case of bin it and buy new.
