Hi Tony1956

We have 2 tunnel returns booked this year, I have driven a few times down to Villamartin from Newcastle upon Tyne see below route we normally run:

Day 1 Newcastle - Ashford

Day 2/3 Through Tunnel Calais - Abbeville - Rouen - Le Mans - Tours - Poitiers - Saintes - Bordeaux - Pau if I am feeling good will keep driving......

Day 3 Pau - Oloron Sainte-Marie - Somport Tunnel - Jaca - Huesca - Zaragoza - Teruel - Valencia - down A7 - A35 - A33 - Villena - Elche - Follow AP7 down to La Zenia turn off or to miss tolls come off Los Montesinos turn off.

Alternative route;

Day 1

Newcastle - Tunnel - Calais - Abbeville - Rouen - Le Mans - Tours - Poitiers

Day 2

Poitiers - Saintes - Bordeaux - Pau - Oloron Sainte-Marie - Somport Tunnel - Jaca - Huesca - Zaragoza - Teruel - Valencia - down A7 - A35 - A33 - Villena - Elche - Follow AP7 down to La Zenia turn off or to miss tolls come off Los Montesinos turn off.

Regards

Andrew

Gents

Thanks for the advice . Would love nothing better than to jump in the car and try option 2, unfortunately I don’t have the confidence to drive the 1800 miles to playa Flamenca via France .

FYI  I Would be willing to share the travel costs of the car journey If a forum member was going over in late January to PF.

I am also dual nationality and have been for   several years through my parents. So still an EU citizen . With that said do any forum members have any advise on the viability of me being able to catch a train through the   channel tunnel  and then connect with a train from Paris to Alicante . Any pit falls / advice greatly received

TIA

Mark

many thanks in advance.Hi Bbwhizz, just picking up on your comments,I am not clear on the latest rule, being a non resident in Spain,do you know if I can still enter Spain by road and is France ok to drive through, I was under the impression France was on lockdown and it was also difficult to travel through different provinces of Spain? Any information would be most helpful.

Hi Mark

Unless anyone is a resident in Spain then none of us are allowed to leave the country with being in tier 4, plus Spain has a ban on non residents at the moment as far as I am aware.

There is a train service down as you say but I cant help with that one as I have never used it, to be honest best bet would be to jump on a flight asap if you can.

Regards

Andrew
