I'd thoroughly recommend Lesley Brownlee at www.costablancacasas.co.uk

Very knowledgeable and excellent customer service throughout the whole process.

Just remember that the estate agent is being paid by the vendor to sell the house (not to advise you of anything which may put you off buying it), that they are not regulated here and you should always find your own independent Abogado. If you are looking at a country property, check the legality of the build especially if it is withing the Natural Park of El Fondo.

Hi Jo

Please be aware that people will happily provide information about a good experience as the forum is filled with very helpful people, however, bad mouthing agents on the forum is frowned upon so you may not find a lot of specific negativity.

Cheryl's advice is very important, a decent lawyer will act in your interests the most so it is worth finding a good one.

My comment is not meant to disappoint you! Just tread carefully and remember... the property you're interested in... there really isn't a huge line of people behind you wanting the same place!!!

Happy hunting and best wishes with your journey

Hope it helps

ps - if you do have a good experience then please post about "An agent I can recommend..." etc as it will help others with their choices.

Some are regulated. Look for one that is a member of the AIPP.

This makes little or no difference actually. I speak from experience

Nope, me as well, just checked and the estate agent we used is AIPP registered and it didn't stop them lying to me or encouraging me to break the law re renting to tourists.
