Sorry, Steve, you're wrong. NIEs are from national police offices or foreigners offices, not local cop shops.
I tested the system yesterday and was offered a couple of appointment dates, but tested it again this morning and it's not offering any.

It's 15 years since we got our NIEs and it was chaos when we went to Alicante, so my friend's father took us to Benidorm (he lived there) and we got them there and then with a short wait.

Unfortunate use of words on my part Jim, I meant local national police. Sorry for the confusion.
