I'm afraid you're going to find securing a job - ANY job - in Spain very difficult if not near impossible, doubly so if you don't speak pretty fluent Spanish.
If you need work to make a move viable, and don't forget that for a residence application you will need to demonstrate a regular income of around €700/750 per month each and private health insurance (I'm assuming neither of you are in receipt of a state pension or other qualifying exportable benefit) then I would have to say that your plan is almost certainly a non starter.
Sorry to be so negative but that's the way it is but if you're determined to give it a go then the best advice I can offer is to not burn your bridges!
