Thanks Liz

Hi Liz

El Verger is a Spanish town unreliant on tourism to some extent and nearby Els Poblets (nicer in my opinion) has a high expat German population but there are some Brits too. There are a high number of second homes in that area due to proximity to beaches so it's very busy in the summer and quite peaceful in the winter.

In winter you will always find plenty bars and restaurants open, just not all of them.

Denia is a Spanish working town and a lot of the bars and restaurants are open all year. If you go into Denia in January it looks no different to any other months, just fewer tourists about and a little easier to park. Denia is easy to reach from Madrid and lots of Madrilenos come over for the weekend to their holiday homes all year round, although December - March is a lot quieter.

Kind regards, Steve

Hi Liz

Both El verger and Els Poblets are very nice villages with plenty of Spainish bars and supermarkets.

open all round year and within walking distance.

Should you want a swimming pool and the beach in walking distance then Els Poblets is the area to concentrate your search.

Look it up on goggle maps sat view you will see the difference Els Poblets only allowed

two floor buildings and most have swimming pools or communal for town houses.

Check out the tourist offices for more info.

Both villages have the high mountain behind them next to the A7 and N332 and this can cast a

shadow from about 15:00 so its worth checking if you want your evening drink in the sun.

Kind regards

Geoff
