Can anyone explain in very simple terms what is required other than a blood test to travel with my dogs. They each have a passport rabies and boosters up to date and have had a titre test but I've heard now that they will need a animal health certificate every time they travel. Is that when we leave Uk to come to Spain or the other way around or both?? We normally just up sticks and travel in spur of the moment but everything I read says allow approximately 4 weeks before you travel to get paperwork for them. And how much is this going to cost for 3 dogs. Appreciate any answers

Hello

Here is the official link to Pet Travel in Europe  after 1st Jan. 2021...This is from the gov.co.uk website, I think you will find all you need to know on there except perhaps prices which, I'm sure your UK vet can help you with.

Hello

Up until last week apparently there were new rules regarding pet travel from 1st Jan 2021.
According to my vet you can now travel  with the normal passport and up to date rabies  boosters etc.

I believe you just need a health certificate just before you leave. I have not read the latest Govt guidelines on their website as yet.

I am so pleased this as changed because I now have a chance to drive with my two dogs in January for my normal winter stay.

The only problem now is COVID and restrictions on travel. I am hoping I will be able to travel during mid to late January if and when restrictions will be lifted.

Thank you so much that’s great news for me. My vet just said take the old passports with you as well. I am very hopeful on being able to travel. Fingers crossed Covid will begin to be more controllable.

Merry Christmas
