After years and years of paying the annual fee to Alarma Direct my British neighbours got burgled 2 nights ago

The alarm detected movement inside the house and a silent signal was send to the police…

And now you would think: great!!! Well no…, the police did not know where the house was so they simply did not react, unbelievable and only possible in Spain I guess…

so if you have Alarma Direct don’t feel secure or safe because you simply aren’t…

Even if the police hits the target, thy cannot and will not do anything, the Law protects whoever is inside unless you can proove ownership be means of a legal title. Most important: there is a nationwide strike affecting judges and court personell and over 200.000 cases are halted at this time and growing.

Don't quite understand your statement 'only possible in Spain'. UK police don't respond either even when telephoned. No doubt if the Spanish police had have known the location of the property they would have attended. Lesson learned ensure the police know where your prooerty is located or is that the alarm company's fault?

... the alarm company's fault?

I heard it from British neighbours that  indeed the uk police don’t come out for a burgled house, car accident, and others…

A shame , in my country it’s COMPLETELY different and if they don’t respond they get sued and loose their job.

we all just feel so sorry for those people who where counting  on their alarm, no idea who’s fault it is but if Alarma direct promised on a contract that their would be “help ” and there isn’t…why do they pay for then???

Those nice looking advertisements on their walls or what…, the whole inside house is ripped  apart , and all values gone

Just put yourself in their situation…

Perhaps your neighbour can claim compensation from the alarm company? As you say, what's the point in paying for something that doesn't work!

A 200% agreement on your answer, that’s why and ONLY why I just try to let people know…and warn: Do NOT count on your alarm contract if the police does not know where you are located!!!

Maybe an idea to all who has that company to check it out with the local police …That’s what I would do…

It sounds to me like the alarm did it's job and alerted police, whomever was responsible for providing them with an accurate and readily findable address/location for the property is the party at fault.

This is precisely the sort of thing What3Words should be used for!

Until the affected party does their investigation we will not know who was/is at fault. We keyboard warriors can only surmise. Perhaps the alarm company didn't pass the relevant details to the police, perhaps the police need to review their processes if they didn't record those details......we could go on and on and on....Let's hope the original poster will let us know the outcomes?

We , neighbours and poster , tried to help the poor people but the police can’t accept a complain from us, it must be the owners…

So , we secured their entrance door, a window and now we are waiting …

It’s up to them

also the alarm company want to talk with the owners only, which is a bit normal…
