Do you know of one ?

Have a look at the notice board at your local clinic, there probably will be an advert or two for translation services.

Look in your local free paper.

We are still paying insurance 900 euros a year on the car havea police hang up every time I call them as I don’t speak English!

Hello

First thing to do is get a translator  to help you if you can't understand Spanish .   You will never be able to deal with Spanish police or any other Spanish  bureaucracy  by continuing to speak English.

Cheers

I’ve just read this post and all the replies and have reached the final post and am still in the dark.

Firstly, you speak about HAVEA.   Are you referring to JAVEA?

Secondly, you haven’t seen fit to reply to questions asked, why?

Thirdly, did this incident occur during lockdown?   2019 is 3 years ago.

Were you in Spain at that time?

Why have you waited 3 years to retrieve your car

Also, DESIGN CARS….Was your car being re sprayed there when it was clamped?   If so, surely the garage proprietor is responsible for the car while it was in his safe keeping.

The solicitor.   Did your solicitor speak English?  Did they understand what you were talking about?  Did you pay them €2,000 upfront?   Have you received any paperwork from them?

You really must get a person who speaks Spanish to deal with this search.

I would conclude by saying that after 3 years, your car is either crushed or resold.

Are you telling us that you tried but NEVER actually spoke with any police about your car ?

I’m concluding that you do not reside in Spain and were in the U.K. when your car was clamped.   Please take the time and update us otherwise, nobody can possibly advise you.
I am really sorry that such a ghastly thing has happened to you.  Someone is to blame.

Yes get a translator, get a translator, get a translator and go to Policia Local and insist on getting an answer as to what happened to your car. The cars would have to be auctioned off publically  and the auction date would be published in the BOE so doubtful if anything has happened with them yet. There is usually no shortage of translators in any towns. Look in your local paper.

It’s very difficult to find a lawyer that’s very good here, mainly because it’s very hard to get any fed back from any previous unhappy members.People that have had terrible service from lawyers should name and shame them on social media.

Are you still getting the yearly Suma bill for the vehicle ? If you are then you are still the registered owner of the car,  if you don’t not then the vehicle has either been scrapped or changed to another owner.

It would be nice if Stef gave us an update. Surely he has got it sorted one way or another by now........
