We are staying in al andulas 1, la Florida in august and we are interested to find out about the public transport into torrevieja for day trips as car hire for 10 days is very expensive. Does anyone know what the bus routes are like and how easy they are from that local area? Thanks

The 2 main coach companies that do day trips in the area--- Rosa Tours & Coachtrips usually suspend most of their trips in Aug as it's just too hot & people dont want to spend time on buses prefering to be at the beach or by a pool.
You can still get the normal buses that go from Torrevieja Bus Station to places like Alicante, Murcia, Cartagena etc stopping in some towns on route.

There are regular buses into Torrevieja which you can catch at the boulevard or closer to La Florida

There are regular buses from La Zenia Boulevard, which is walkable but very hot in August! There is also a (minibus) service to the Boulevard but it can be difficult to figure out the timetable! It's easiest to catch it at a stop near the Abbey Tavern, from where you could also get a taxi. If you catch it going the other way it will take you to the hospital, from where there are a number of buses into Torrevieja.
