Do I have to register my dogs?

Hi
We are planning to move to the La Mata area for 5/6 and are bringing our 2 Beagles with us. We have organised their rabies vaccine and Pet Health Certificate with our local vet. I was wondering if we need to register our dogs with the local council when we arrive, like we have dog licences here in Northern Ireland.
Any advice or info would be great.
