How do we start playing Petanque?

Hi

We have a holiday apartment in La Mata and would like to start playing Petanque either on the area near Mercadona or in La Mata. We have

never played before so would like any advice on how to get started. Do we join a club? Do you hire or buy balls? Are there any lessons

available?

Go down near the square in La Mata on a Thursday about 11.00 and there is a group of brits who play for fun. It’s a great way to meet people. After it’s finished you go and have a drink/ chat at a local bar. Brilliant fun and they even bring spare balls for you to use

Hola everyone who has shown some interest in this topic of playing petanca near La Mata, I live about 10 minutes walk from the petanca place where they play near the Mercadona, and the JF bar, I to would like to play and take part, but haven't got any boules either, but if anyone who reads this plays there, can you please let me know your name and when you play so I can introduce myself, many thanks in advance.
