IS A RENTAL LICENCE NEEDED FOR HOLIDAY LETS TO FAMILIES AND FRIENDS
Hi all
I wonder if anyone knows if a holiday rental licence is required if I let my property be used by my family and friends.

Of course not, if you rent on Internet sites and have published your home, you need a license, if you give your home to whomever you want, for free , you do not need a license or contract.

As above, 'renting' involves the exchange of money. So allowing friends and family to use the property is fine as long as they are not paying anything at all - nothing towards electricity etc. If a cent changes hands then you are renting and need a license.
I would add that it is still important to issue anyone using your property with a copy of the community rules and ensure they realise these must be followed.
