Is there a lady out there interested to work as a full-time, live-in Housekeeper/Secretary?

I am looking for someone to act as Carer/Companion/Housekeeper to my lovely 92 year old English mother and possibly to also do some secretarial work (though the latter is not essential).

Accommodation at private house in La Nucia, utilities and use of car provided. Live in Spain....at no cost!

We could also consider a live-out person but obviously without the above benefits!

We need someone of the right age who is engaging, organised and positive, whilst compassionate and patient. Someone flexible and willing to help with the smallest tasks upwards. Preferably with a care or nursing background (though my mother does not need nursing, just someone to be there) and, if we add secretarial work too, able to use a PC and work with Microsoft Office software to perform common business tasks. We need someone who speaks fluent English and preferably some Spanish, and can drive a car.

The role would include managing the 2 bedroom house from cleaning, cooking, shopping onwards, plus engaging with my mother and encouraging and joining with her to enjoy her hobbies and keep active both mentally and, as much as possible, physically.

I live overseas (but visit often), and therefore need someone I can trust who is able to work efficiently, diligently and responsibly without supervision. Of course the person must be of sound history and honest character with proper references and criminal record check etc.

Salary/terms - negotiable.

I look forward to hearing from you with CV and proper references, and a note on why this job is attractive and suitable for you.

Thanks,

Robin

Hi Robin,

I’m a registered nurse in Spain and the UK. I live in La Nucia with my husband and 3 children.

I would be able to help your mother whilst my children are in school, and after school too if she doesn’t mind children (they are well-behaved haha).  And I could bring her along on family outings etc and get her out and about.

If that’s something you’d be interested in then please contact me.

Kind regards,

Vanessa

Hi Vanessa,

Thanks for your message which I've only just read having got back from London today.

We are looking for live-in carers and companion for my mother. We have a few possibilities but may still need someone like to fill in.

Let me know if you're still interested and perhaps we can discuss further.

best regards

Robin

Reading your post, I am wondering if there is any financial recompose. I realise that you are providing accommodation but you don’t mention money. Many people would initially find your offer interesting but when looking after elderly people, surly one would expect time off, weekends and holidays.

I hope you find the perfect companion for your mother, she is a fortunate lady to have such a good and sensible son.

Good luck.

Rosemary.

Hi Robin,

Hope you are doing well. We mums are lucky to have a daughter who cares after the well being of the parents. Reading your post reminded me of my time when my mum was around. We too lived abroad and had 2 ladies to care for her. The main lady did everything as per your request and the second only did the night shift.

Coming back to your question I would like to say I am very much interested. I am a great 👩‍🍳, a good entertainer and speaker on most everything, Convent educated, can drive, do not smoke or drink. Tech savvy and have worked for UHNWI and VVIP’s, can administer medication as per doctors orders. One draw back, have not worked in a professional capacity with elderly people. I define professionally as do help out my neighbors and friends families in looking after their elderly when needed.

If you would like to speak to me to clarify further if I will be suitable please do not hesitate to pm me or mail me on neelkbertelsen@gmil.com

All the best.

Kind regards

Nel
