We have a house in La Sella which we have recently bought. It is currently empty until we can get over and it will be used as a holiday home.

our question is regarding the electricity - currently with Iberdrola and it just seems awfully expensive - the charge for an empty house is just short of €30 per month. Just wondered if this was normal or if we need to look at changing suppliers?

many thanks in advance.

Looking at my bill for this month = 30 days and if I am correct in what I understand,

Standing charge = 14 Euro

Insurance = 6 Euro

IVA = 9 Euro (including usage)

= 29 Euro rounded up + electricity use.

Based on a 3.3kw supply.

Hope it helps, stay safe and healthy my friend.

hi

may i ask if you have any problems with your electric at 3.3kw as in cut offs or surges with your appliances as most properties are at 5.75kw, been  thinking for a while to drop it down with iberdrola.

Personally no, as I am a stickler in what power I am using, I do however have to remind my wife not to use her hairdryer, straighteners, kettle and washing machine at the same time !! But 3.3kw works for me, I would dread to think what my wife would be like if I was not around? Good luck, stay safe and healthy my friend.

The insurance charge of €6/month is not compulsory. Just phone or call in and ask them to cancel it. It's something they added on a few years back without asking or telling their customers.

Yes I did look into this and decided to keep the insurance after reading the policy terms and agreements.

Why this thread is still on the go, What are the discounts you all receive, if any, I receive a 18% discount.

Discount?  I’ve never heard of a discount !  How and why do you have one ?
