Hi Richard,
Property transfer tax in Spain is called “Impuesto sobre Transmisiones Patrimoniales”, abbreviated to "ITP". The rate is set by each of the autonomous regions, so for property in Comunidad Valenciana the rate is 10%, calculated as a percentage of the purchase price. In Murcia it´s 9%; other regions could be different again.
