Hi, we just purchased a property in La Zenia and it came with a satellite dish, TV and a free view box.

We have tried to obtain a reception but it keeps on saying 'no signal', would this be due to the previous owner cancelling internet etc??

Help would be appreciated!

If it's a satellite dish rather than a small microwave re-broadcast dish, then there shouldn't be a problem. And if the previous owner was British then the dish shouldn't need re-aligning.

I'm no expert, but the first thing I'd check is if you have selected the correct input source - presumably one of the HDMIs - on the TV.

As far as most Brits will understand Freeview is the name of the UK's terrestrial digital TV service and therefore does not require a dish. It is also, as the name says, FREE so needs no subscription and nor does it require an internet connection.

Clearly of course it cannot work in Spain so whatever it is you have it cannot be a Freeview system in those terms so if you give us the make and model of the box we should be able to tell you what it is you have in fact got.

Also what size is the dish, if less than 1.4m in diameter then it's unlikely to be for reception of regular UK Sky or Freesat sevices as generally speaking that's the minimum size required in the area and for reliable reception you need 1.9m.
