I have been searching on various sites trying to confirm if we need a PCR test or a LFT ( lateral flow test) when returning to the UK from Spain. The search results have been ambiguous to say the least. Can anyone confirm from personal experience which test is acceptable, we will be traveling to the UK using Ryan air, even their information is not exactly clear. Therefore anyone’s personal experience would be most appreciated, many thanks.

A good number of posters on this forum have confirmed that an antigen test is sufficient for UK entry, costs app €40.

If you are travelling from Spain whilst Spain is on the amber list don't forget your day 2&8 package for use in the UK, you will need the confirmation number for your locator form.

Both my husband and I paid €39 each at DAM Health. Great service and quick results.

I flew back on Saturday. Latral flow test was fine.

Certificate was checked at Alicante Airport by Easyjet staff, along with UK locator document and day 2 pcr booking.

We paid for the €40 each for our test in Spain & almost £200 for the ones required in the UK, we've just completed our 10 day quarantine. You are not allowed out at all, you have to stay at the address you put on your form & they call everyday. If you are caught breaking the rules you face a fine of £5000.

They say you have to stay at an address where you can get supermarket deliveries

Hope this is useful

Personally, I would comply and stay at home. But if you are on a mobile phone number how do they know where you are ?

Your phone can be tracked.

Everything you do on your phone can be traced (almost)
