Hi I'm Garry,

I have just visited the area and I am looking to move over next January. I was wondering if there is any regular work available for a DJ over there? I am a very experienced DJ, with a full range of music for all ages and a full modern set of equipment. I am happy working in a residency or working independantly as a mobile DJ. Any help would be very appreciated

Hi Garry

My advice to you would be to get a facebook page set up, offer a couple of free events at the venues in the area youre considering (its only your time you are giving away remember) and then take it from there.

Please dont come over here thinking you will make your millions though my friend, its a tough gig... work hard though and you'll be fine!

Thanks for your response UKHandyman4Hire,

I like your idea of the Facebook page and the free gigs which I have no problem with as I used to do auditions in nightclubs in the past.

I'm not afraid of hard work or long hours and I am quite handy. I have other skills and experience that I that I'm hoping could be of use to someone to help us make a reasonable living.

I recently visited the area and only came back to the UK last Thursday. I lived and worked in Benidorm in the early 90's so I was semi-prepared for lower financial rewards and the hard work that I would have to do make the move a successful one but I came across quite a few negative people when I was there that I have to admit got me a little concerned.

Thanks for your advice and positive support

Regards

Garry

Not a problem Garry, too much negativity in the world... nice to reach out and offer some support but also the reality check too!

You clearly have experience so know what youre letting yourself in for. Its a fantastic way of life over here, despite the crappy exchange rate!

I wish you every success and good luck to you fella.

Best wishes
