Hola everyone.

We are hoping to move out before the start of the next term for my daughter starting school. Strangely enough, we have never been to the Southern Costa Blanca. We are hoping to come out in March. Not sure where to base ourselves and where the English speak schools are?

I have a million other questions too, not used the forum so not sure where to be posting lol.

Thanks :0)

There is Kings College in Murcia which is an English (international) school and follows the English curriculum but it is a private fee paying school. They have a website you can look at .

Hi...

There’s one a lot closer, it’s about 7 mins from La Zenia. 2 mins from my home in Los Dolses...

My friends children go to it and it’s a fantastic school,  in Los Dolses Orihuela Costa.

You can google it and it’s very highly rated..

Public school, Playas de Orihuela,

This is the address...

Calle Níspero, 2 Parcela D, 03189 Los Dolses, Alicante, Spain,

Telephone number...+34 966 90 42 15,

I hope this helps if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me,

Jill x

Sorry guys, I forgot to thank you for your replies. We are a bit behind schedule lol. My husband has had a lot to deal wiht at work. We are hoping to come out in September/ October. As I said in previous post, we have never been to the area and really looking forward to coming out. The schools are so expensive, going to be more than our rent lol.

One of our neighbours put his son straight into a Spanish-speaking state school.  His son is getting on fine there and his Spanish is coming along.  I worked in a school in the UK and we had non-English speakers come into various year groups and they soon picked up the language and do as well as their peers, so I'd just go for the non fee-paying option.  Children are more resilient than most adults and maths is maths in any language so that's one lesson they'd be able to access immediately.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies. My daughter is quite bright, however even tho she is still young (11) she already suffers from anxiety and low self esteem. I don't know how well she would go into a Spanish speaking school.....

Thanks again xxx

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Sorry to interrupt your post Nicola 😎

El Limona international school 850 Euro but more expensive for a child of 11 Plus school meals....

If your daughter suffers from low self esteem and anxiety you would be doing her more harm than good ....

To put a non Spanish girl into mainstream Spanish school would make her more anxious and withdrawn.....

Please do your homework it is pretty hard to move here lots of paper work the Spanish like their paperwork stamped in triplicate ....

you will have to have a sum of monies it’s really not the programme a place in the sun ...

Phoenix is another international school which is cheaper ...

We are here with our granddaughter for nearly a year and even although we planned for a year we still had a few surprises ...in saying that we love it here and wouldn’t go back ...scotland just isn’t scotland anymore ...

Welcome to Spain 😊

Hi there, thanks for the welcome.

Yes we found the phoenix, and it looks lovely.  Both myself and my hubby have decided it best if she goes to phoenix. We are speaking with them at the moment. She is not confident at all, although is coming out of her shell the older she gets.

Looking forward to talking to you all some more. x
