NIE number

Just wondered if anyone on here could share there experience applying for the NIE, did you apply from the UK via the consulate? Or from Spain via the police station?

We got ours from the embassy in Edinburgh. It was straight forward. Booked and appointment online, took the completed forms with us, our passports and payment. We were only in about 10 minutes. We received our NIE’s by email about a week later.

We are in the UK but planning to relocate and need the NIE to open bank accounts and hopefully purchase a house

The forms are in Spanish but you fill in the answers in English. They have a version online in English so you can understand the questions.

Lawyer did it as part of house purchase
Can anyone tell me who can help with exchanging our driving licenses to Spanish ones please. Moraira area thanks
Re: changing driving licences. Go to a Hestor. They will do everything. We use SCM in Moraira just up from Saxo.
