I would be interested to know if anyone paying non-resident income tax submits their own return or does this through a solicitor. We are registered for tax with Agencia Tributaria but have not yet submitted a return. It seems relatively straightforward as there is only the property value to cosider, we are not letting, but are advised by the solicitor we have used for purchase that a solicitor should submit ithe return on our behalf - for a charge of course!

I agree with Juliette, why pay a Solicitor for something so simple, we used Spanish Tax Forms Ltd the first year and then knew what to do the following year, so paid around 30-35€ the first time and nothing to do it ourselves the second. It depends on how confident you are, by the time we were applying for Residencia our confidence levels were much higher and did it ourselves with no problems.

Thank you, that's really helpful. We thought it was relatively simple but that solicitors were trying to make it more complicated than it really is!

Thanks, very helpful.  We've already worked out what we think it should be so hopefully will be plain sailing!
