Hi

Thought as we are stuck at home we could get on with some jobs! Does anyone know of any builders merchants still delivering in Muro De Alcoy area please? We need things like sand cement wood plaster board etc. I know Leroy Merlin are delivering but the nearest is Alicante and a lot more expensive on building items and delivery.

Thank you

According to the list of permitted/prohibited activities recently circulating on WhatsApp and issued by the Guardia, the answer is that as a private individual you are not permitted to buy these kinds of items during the lockdown; only to be sold to official registered builders and tradespeople to enable them to carry on working, albeit whilst observing safe practices. Neither may the Chinese shops or similar sell anything other than cleaning items, foodstuffs etc. Supermarkets who may have a small section of paint etc are not permitted to sell it.

I have no idea. It would appear you have two choices, buy it from LM or don’t do it. Their prices are usually perfectly reasonable, albeit there is a delivery charge.

Have just checked their website, it would appear that as a private individual you can’t go to the store, only professionals can, so would assume that their drivers are observing safe distancing protocols etc.

A Leroy Merlin lorry drove past our place with bags of building items on the back, looked like they were making a delivery to me unless it was a trade delivery.

Leroy Merlin are still taking and doing home delivery orders 😊 to PERSONAL customers. You can ring and order and delivery is 48hrs. Seems this IS actually permitted? Cant see a big company like LM breaking the law?

Builders etc can still go to the store.

Just got a mailing from Leroy which, basically, says ‘ now that you’re stuck in the house, you can order online and we’ll deliver in 48 hours’.

So, presumably, if the driver can just drop the stuff off, that’s ok as it will have been paid online etc.
