I'm considering moving from the London City lights!  Although I love London, it will always be here and feel it's time for a change and I fell in love with the surrounding areas of Pedreguer.  I've been there several times and I'm tired of working everyday in London's rat race.  I'll be coming there in the winter as I've only ever been in the summer, as I believe if you like it in the winter then that's saying something.  How do you go about jobs, is it word of mouth generally?

That will depend upon what type of job you are seeking, whether you have a working/fluent knowledge of Spanish, any professional qualifications?

Without Spanish, it is unlikely that Spanish firms would be willing to employ you; there are several British owned companies, but again, it depends for what you are looking. The work situation is not good - the most you are likely to find would be washing dishes/waiting for very low pay. Pay rates here do not match UK. Many companies do not employ people but use ‘sub-contract’ due to the onerous paperwork and payments required. You could register as ‘autonomo ‘ - self-employed and start sourcing your own work, once you are officially in the system as autonomo you will be subject to the relevant social deductions and taxes. Would advise against coming hoping to find work without a financial cushion.
