Good morning all.

Thid may be funny to some, but I think it's an issue which needs to bring into the open now.

We notice that these two stores that we frequent a lot are still not providing Proper Toilet facilities to their shoppers.in other words they still keep their toilets locked and no request for an "emergency" use will help.i had to leave my shopping in the middle and "run" to consum across to use their open facilities and than I was happy to complete my shopping there.

The lockdown has been over now for weeks and these 2 stores are still NOT providing these basic facilities to the public,it seems to me that they are not willing to keep their facilities clean duering the day and it seems to me that it creates an extra burden on their poor staff numbers.

Has anyone expirience similar situation?

I had my rant and I am now off to my own bathroom.

Have a great day

Hi Ray

FYI the following stores kept open their toilet facilities during the lockdown and beyond:

Mercadona

Consum

Supevalue

Iceland

Más y másca

Carrefour

Habaneras

Surley all the above couldn't have broken covid19 lockdown rules...

Surley the right things to do is to display a poster at the entrance door saying specifically that "our toilet facilities are not available".

PS

I wonder where the staff are using toilet facilities than??

Thanks Nicola.

I reffered this matter to the health and safety department at the Ayuntamiento of Rojales by a simple phone call and the are going to sent an health inspector to Aldi and Liddle to ask them to facilitate the toilet to the general public.i was also been told that hygiene facilities are mandatory by law and a pre-condition for any food establishment to get a licence prior the opening of a bar, restaurant, cafes and stores.

For once,I was pleased to hear this from the horses mouth.great!!!

I’m back home in Ireland now but the toilets here in Lidl & Aldi have remained all summer open on request. Used one Saturday & it was well stocked. My niece is a manageress in one & will be the first to admit things are cut to the bone there regarding staff and that they’re always busy but they just increased the cleaning rota in the toilet she said. It wouldn’t be hard & just a simple courtesy to offer customers a key. No 2 bladders are the same I’m afraid. I’d be on the wrong end of it these days while the missus could last all day.

I don’t think too many use the toilets in Lidl or Aldi as they can be behind locked doors off the floor. Not too sure how many establishments clean toilets after each use. While in Costa Coffee here Friday I saw 4 people use the toilets after one another which are not locked without any staff going in. In fairness to the 2 girls they were flat out behind the counter. One went in then & did a clean. Same here with a restaurant yesterday. Tables were kept apart & numbers admitted were being limited but again a few people used the toilet after each other including myself as I had to do the business. There was plenty of hand sanitizers and wipes available but I guess when you have to go then you have to go and just have to mind yourself. Bit easier for a man though to do the business standing up 😊

There are a few folk you definitely wouldn’t want to shake hands with for sure. I wish I didn’t have to use them either as it’s a nuisance but has to be done. I could tell you a long story about driving back alone up through Spain & France at end of last March during the initial strict lockdown in both countries while all public motorway toilets & rest areas were shut and then from Plymouth through Wales to the opposite side of Ireland on the Atlantic coast. I became friendly with many gate posts & bushes 😊

You must mean "LIDL"

AT: https://www.lidl.es/ I suppose.

Yes, I have had similar problems at Mercadona and consum

and it's not over yet.
