For information regarding the new tie if you already hold residency taken from cab site who have the forms available .

Yes, my wife and I went yesterday.  We changed our permanente green credit card residency card into a TIE.  We had EX23, 790 fee €12, new photographs, passport with copy. We had our index finger prints taken, our residency card retained, we were given a temporary piece of paper to tide us over until we can collect the actual cards within the next 45 days.  All very straightforward.

Hi Ray

It wasn’t myself that went I copied it from the cab website to give information. It was done in menorca, and no up to date padron was required.

I am a bit confused. Is the TIE mandatory ? I am sure I have read on more than one page that the residencia A4 or green card is sufficient to protect your rights and status but the TIE is available to apply for if you wish. I know it is early days and more information will be available as time goes on.

...es on.

At the moment, changing from a residency certificate to TIE is voluntary. It will only become mandatory after the end of the Brexit transition period, and I think it has to be done within six months of that.

I haven't got time to do it at the moment, although I'm tempted to try and make time to do so. At the moment, appointments in Alicante are available, but we don't know if any other police stations are doing it.

Do it now whilst appointments are available, or do it later when the appointments system might get over-loaded?

Hi,

How easy for me and my wife to apply in Alicante for the TIE?

Somebody offered to do this for me and my wife for €70 per person.

Anyone knows the address in Alicante?

Many thanks

David Ronnen
