Hi, we have the original flooring in our property and although we keep it clean we are have our shoes or slippers sticking to them all the time leaving black bits all over the floors. It is driving me mad  and more importantly my husband with me. We were toying with the idea of having the whole place retiled but it may be too big a job as we live here with our dog.  Is there a sealer that can be used or to stop this.

Thankyou

Josie.

That´s weird Josie, it sounds as if something may have already have been put on the tiles to stop the usual hazard of slipping on them. Have you tried steaming a small area to see if anything comes off?

Hello I'm greg.

I've had some similar issues before.

Do you happen to use bleach.?

Bleach on tiles can 100%cause your issues..

Try to just use regular floor cleaners like mop and glow etc..

Also if you are planning on putting a sealer on you should clean the areas a couple times with regular floor cleaners before sealing the floors.

Hope this info helps...

Hi Greg, Thankyou so much for your reply. Yes I do use bleach probably too much. I will try with just boiling water and a little bit of cleaner.  It drives me mad a definite bug bear.
