I am looking for some coach excursions which offer a pick up in Santa Pola - does anyone know of any or have any other suggestions for local days out? Many thanks!

I actually think that if you contact them they will sometimes pick up just off the 332 in Santa Pola.
If not, if you have a car it's not too far to Gran Alacant, and easy to park by the Centro Comercial.

David's CoachTrips pick up in La Marina for southbound trips, i.e., Cordoba, Sevilla, Gibraltar. For northbound trips, they pick up in Gran Alacant. Taxi fare to La Marina is under €30 and to Gran Alacant is around €15. Excellent company and trips.
