Hi folks. Just moved into an apartment here in Santa Pola. Loving it. ❤️.  We have old style shutters/ persianas that are housed in big, ugly boxes. Has any one any experience of renewing these with more modern and compact versions or does it mean a complete window replacement. Any hints or advice will be gratefully received. Thank you

I'm no expert! But new units with/without double glazed is the best way forward (with less hassle & compared cost) V

Hello, we had the same job done several years ago, on our flat in SP.

Complete replacement of the combined units was the answer, ie double glazed with the blinds. The new blinds are much more compact than the old originals, so the the boxes holding the blinds when rolled up are likewise, much smaller. The double glazing is much thinner, and sealed units, also much better sound insulated as well as for heat, in all seasons. Not as expensive as you might think, and well worth the investment. I will send you the contact details of the supplier ASAP.

regards,

R & F

Hi Trudi,

glad to help.

the firm that did ours was La Molineta,Aluminios y joiners shop on corner of Calles Espoz y Mina and Palencia, 1 block down from the Palmeral Park, in Santa Pola.

They do free estimates, medium range prices, reliable, good quality job, prompt attention. No faults to report.

They do all types of doors & windows, wood, plastic or metal, any colour or style you fancy.

They also attend promptly to any after sales problems.

You can mention that a previous customer recommended them

best wishes
