Parked up by the quay side in SantaPola and noticed people were going into the big building and coming out with what looked like a bag of fish, they put the bag of fish onto their wing mirrors and drove off, has anyone bought from here and is it good value for money, cheers

Hi Bratty,

If you mean the big white building that’s where the fish are auctioned off each day to shops, cafe, restaurant owners. It’s actually quite interesting to go in and watch.

If it was the corner building (near the big boat on a stand) that’s a fish shop. Just behind the big boat they have the fish markets which open about 7pm each evening. There are good deals to be had and the fish is always fresh, caught that day.

There is a good variety of fish at the markets as well, lots not always found in the supermarkets.

If you want to see the fishing boats come in they start arriving from about 4pm. I have seen people buy straight from the boats but haven’t done this myself.
