Hi,

I recently bought a small apartment in Santa Pola and I need to buy bed linen, towels, crockery etc.  I know that there's a Carrefour in Santa Pola, but I'm not sure if it's just a supermarket.  Can anyone suggest a good place to get these sorts of things in Santa Pola or would I need to go to La Zenia Boulevard or Ikea in Alicante for a better selection of household items?

Carrefour in Santa Pola has a selection of bedding, towels, et . It's non-super.arket section is as large as the supermarket section. Plenty to choose from. Also.great value at Saturday market, whether you want budget or quality end.  There aremany stalls, which are worth comparing. I would definitely go on Sat rather than Monday.

As I se it, Carrefour is probably not the best option for bedding. Instead, I'd recommend IKEA or Bedland.

Hi Greenane,

Just something to watch out for when buying bed linen - continental bed linen is typically a different size to UK.  For example, the pillow cases tend to be longer and narrower than UK pillows, or square, as in Germany.  If you're buying your pillows and quilts in Spain, it won't be a problem, but if you've bought them with you from the UK, most of the linen here won't fit correctly.  The only place I've found this not to be a problem is Zara - there's one in Habaneras shopping centre in Torrevieja, just off the N332, so you don't need to go to La Zenia.  If needed, there are also two British linen shops in Ciudad Quesada: Yorkshire Linen and The Linen Mills, both on Calle Los Arcos.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thank you very much for that information,

I hadn’t realised that there was a difference in sizing!

I’ll definitely check out where you’ve suggested.

Try the Market at Santa Pola, on a Saturday and Monday, you will find most items there.
