Can anyone suggest how to deal with feral cats? Our community is overrun with them.

I know many people are cat lovers but that doesn't mean we all have to be.  Gardens are awash with cat poo and their incessant noise is such a nuisance.

The only solution is sterilization.

Local Towns Halls control this. They're probably aware of it but if you want to you could drop in and tell them about it.

Where/how many, etc....

Have you spoken to the President of your community? He would be the person to deal with the local authorities.

Those poor cats did not ask to be born or to be abandoned by their owners.  Trap them, have them sterilized and in time the population will be less.  Try and rehome the kittens.  Be kind!

Are they vandalising things? Stealing? Braking the law? Ah no, sorry thats humans. Animals like humans have every right to survive, weather you like that or not.

If the cats go rats and mice will take their place. Know what I'd prefer.

You need some feral cats to control vermin but if you have too many on your community then trap a few and have them neutured.  Have the vet put a small nick in the ear of all females that have been neutered so if they are caught again at a later date you don't end up taking the same ones to the vets.  Any kittens can be taken to or collected by a rescue when old enough to leave mum (who can then be neutured).  Best to be kind. Get the community on board with a neutering program and you can get advice from charities such as Street Cats.
