Most cats hate cars and howl unremittingly, determined to make one feel as guilty as possible!!!! However, we sent our two with a specialised animal transport company - animalcouriers.com I think. We placed them in a cattery local to the courier base - although they will collect from your house for an extra fee - about a week before we left as we didn’t want them there with the hassle of removers etc. They were then transported, properly converted vehicle complying with all requirements, and delivered to a reliable cattery near to our proposed house. There they remained until we actually had the keys and had moved in, we collected them a couple days after we were there. They were absolutely fine, no problems, and in all were ‘in transit’ and away from us for almost 4 weeks in total. Slightly confused when they came home, because of course it was a different house, but we kept them in for a couple of weeks without any problems at all It was less expensive than air transit, and suited us better because of our personal situation - we simply didn’t have to worry about them at all at what is always a stressful time, as they were safe and being cared for.

You know what they say, Ray:

Dogs have owners; cats have slaves.
